Min-nick, commenced in the rural schools, was continuedat Kings College, Bristol, Tennessee, the TennesseeMedical College at Knoxville, Tennessee, and theVirginia Medical College at Richmond, Virginia,and he was graduated from the latter institutionin April, 1904, with the degree of Doctor of Medi-cine. During the summer and early autumn of thatyear Doctor Minnick was engaged in practice atStonega, Virginia, a mining community, and then,in November, 1904, he crossed the continent andsettled permanently at Saco.
