The educational training of Dr. Robert P. Min-nick, commenced in the rural schools, was continuedat Kings College, Bristol, Tennessee, the TennesseeMedical College at Knoxville, Tennessee, and theVirginia Medical College at Richmond, Virginia,and he was graduated from the latter institutionin April, 1904, with the degree of Doctor of Medi-cine. During the summer and early autumn of thatyear Doctor Minnick was engaged in practice atStonega, Virginia, a mining community, and then,in November, 1904, he crossed the continent andsettled permanently at Saco. At that time Saco wasbut a hamlet of a few buildings along the mainstreet, and he was its first physician. During theperiod he has lived here he has not only seen greatprogress
