Length of jackets got longer in 1909, which hellps date this photo to circa 1909. "Since my wife's gone in for the feminist movement, she wants me to lay half the eggs" "From Nelllie" is the insciption on the reverse of the postcard. It could be that Nellie is an early feminist sympathiser of the Suffragette Movement, or that she is mocking it. This inscription is found on a card from this era by Bamforth publisher - the inscription of which is "Since my wife's got the vote she wants me to lay half the eggs"
