Below the lateral line the colour is paler and more yellow, with clusters of the same spots fading into a dull dead white, which is the pre- vailing hue of the belly, with a very slight silvery gloss on some of the scales. The dorsal and caudal fins are of the greenish brown with the back, and like it are irregularly patched with lighter spots.
