Passenger compartment of Zeppelin LZ 126, c1924 (1933). LZ126 was built for the US military as part of the war reparations Germany was compelled to pay after World War I. After completion it was flown from Friedrichshafen to Lakehurst, New Jersey, taking 81 hours and 2 minutes to complete the journey. The airship was designated ZR-3 and named USS 'Los Angeles' and remained in service until being dismantled in 1940.
