M81 galaxy. Ultraviolet space telescope image of the spiral galaxy M81 (centre). The large bluish-white material to the left of M81 is a neighbouring galaxy called Holmberg IX. M81 and Holberg IX are located around 12 million light-years from Earth, in the constellation Ursa Major. Imaged by NASA's Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX).
