Long-necked Karen, or Padaung, girl, Chiang Dao, northern Thailand

The Padaung, also known as the Kayan, arrived in Thailand as refugees from Burma in the 1980s. They are particularly famous for the neck rings worn by the women, which give the illusion of a long neck by pushing the shoulders down.
