101113-N-6266K-043 STRAITS OF HORMUZ (Nov. 13, 2010) Avenger-class mine countermeasure ship USS Scout (MCM 8) prepares to pull along side Royal Fleet Auxiliary Lyme Bay (L3007) prior to rafting during a joint. Rafting occurs when two ships pull close to each other in open water to transfer supplies through the use of a gangway. Scout is attached to Combined Task Force 151 deployed in support of maritime security operations in the 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
