When she returned to visit her native town of Neuenstein last summer she received a wonderful welcome. Mrs. Glaus was seen in her attractive flower shop, at Germantown avenue and Tioga street, behind a win- dowful of pretty little baskets of chrysanthemums, and talked of her re- ception. Mrs. Glaus said that when she reached the town of her birth, a great concourse of people met her. They were headed by the mayor of the town and the priest. The school children sang "Home, Sweet Home" in German and she received great quanti- ties of flowers. Mrs. Glaus attributed this remarkable reception to the fact that she had remembered the poor of Neuenstein during the war and at Christmas. She was greatly affected by the warmth of the demonstration given in her honor. Mrs. Glaus has a large oil painting of Neuenstein hang- ing over her door in her workshop. Murray Hill. G. U. Liggit returned to this city November 4 from a visit to the rose growers of Madison, N. J. He was es- pecially interested in his call on L. B. Goddington, at Murray Hill.
