Successful couples are awarded a flitch of bacon. Mr Atkinson and Mrs Atkinson-Wright swearing on sharp stones that they have never regretted being married. Mrs Atkinson-Wright is an American. The couple met while he was studying mathematics at Cambridge University and she was studying at Homerton College.
