When I got about half through thewoods I saw Comrade Hart Landon sitting atthe foot of a tree fanning himself with his my team I asked him what was thematter with him and he replied that he waswounded and not able to walk. I lifted him ontop of my load of harness and he rode thereuntil he crossed the railroad, when it hurt himso much that he wanted to get down. I stoppedand took him off and hoisted him on my back,holding him with one arm and leading thetwo horses with the other.
