HcGulre, Section Director - Boston, SUMMARY Weather conditions In New England during April 1954were fairly typical for this first full month of month contained extremes of temperature rangingfrom wintry sub-zero readings early in the month tosummer-like warmth in the 80s less than three weekslater. On the early morning of the 5th, a new recordlow April temperature was established in New Englandwith a reading of 17° below zero at First ConnecticutLake, N. H. This was 5° lower than the pervious recordApril low reading of 12° below zero made at Bloomfield,Vt. on April 1, 1923; and it was 7° lower than theprevious lowest April temperature in New summer-like warmth occurring later in the month,while not of record intensity, present
