They resemble the 632 CAPRIMULGUS, GOATSUCKER. former in their small bill, wide mouth, and copious viscid sali-vary fluid ; in their long wings, and diminutive feet; and intheir flight, mode of seizing their prey, and migratory affinity to the Owls is manifested by their very large eyesand ears, adapted to their nocturnal flight, which is like theirs,noiseless and stealthy; in the softness and minute and intricatemarking of their feathers, and in the structure and proportionsof their digestive organs.
