World War One photograph showing two different types of handsets used by the American military. The first handset is the 1001 G. Hand Set, made of lightweight aluminum and manufactured by Western Electric Co. It is equipped with a push button for talking. The second handset is the Special Hand Set , also manufactured by Western Electric Co., and used with the camp telephone model in Paris, France. This photograph was taken on July 23, 1918 and received on December 27, 1918. It was passed by the censor and issued as subject 3269, held by Corp. A Lubetty.
