Ifany animal in the detachment shows such symptoms, isolate it atonce. Do not permit saddles, harness, or tools used for the sickhorses to be used for sound animals. Temperature.—The normal temperature of horse, taken by ther-mometer in the rectum for three or four minutes, is 99° to 100° F. A permanent rise of 2° or 3° indicates fever.
