VIEW OF THE MISSOURI RIVER FROM WHITE CLOUD, KANSAS, NEAR TROY IN DONIPHAN COUNTY IN THE EXTREME NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE STATE. WHITE CLOUD IS NAMED AFTER THE LAST GREAT CHIEF OF THE IOWA INDIAN TRIBE WHICH WAS GIVEN THIS LAND BY TREATY IN 1836. THIS TOWN IS ON THE EDGE OF THE IOWA-SAC-FOX- INDIAN RESERVATION AND NOW HAS A POPULATION OF 200. MOST OF THE BRICK BUILDINGS BUILT IN THE 1850'S AND 1860'S ARE STILL STANDING
