Francis Graham-Smith (born 1923), British astronomer. Graham-Smith was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1970. He was president of the Royal Astronomical Society from 1975 to 1977, and Director of the Royal Greenwich Observatory from 1975 to 1981. From 1981 to 1988 he was Director of the Jodrell Bank radio telescopes. Awarded the Royal Society's Royal Medal in 1987, he was Astronomer Royal from 1982 to 1990. A co-presenter of the 1965 Royal Institution Christmas Lecture, he was knighted in 1986. He is a Distinguished Supporter of the British Humanist Association.
