Crested Screamer (Chauna torquata) Portrait


The crested or southern screamer can be found in South America. It's diet is mainly plants and seeds with the unusual rodent or other small animal. They are named after the loud screams they make during courtship which can be heard up to 2 miles away. They also have 2 spurs on each wing to fend off predators.
