Mid-summer conditions prevail witli ?little cliange in prices from those of last weeli. Lilies are plentiful and most of them move at low figures. Lo- cal gladioli are now arriving with America most in demand. Asters are arriving in good numbers and sell on sight. Maryland and Russell are the best roses. American Beauties are scarce and of poor quality. Plenty of miscellaneous stock is seen, such as phloxes, daisies, cornflowers, sweet peas, water lilies, snapdragons and larkspurs. Asparagus is plentiful. NOTES. Edward Hermann, who conducted a flower shop in the northeast section of the city for many years, died July 17. His son will continue the business. The Seidewitz Flower Shop. North Charles street, reports plenty of funeral work to bolster up the summer business. R. Vincent, Jr., & Sons Co., White Marsh, Md., are cutting the first dah- lias. They are the best grown in this vicinity. J. Ward Perry, form,erly of the S. S. Pennock Co., has joined Battery C, Maryland artillery.
