This relation isbrought out clearly by the curve of Fig. 1, in which therate of change in the specific gravity of mixtures betweenthe anorthite and albite is shown to be a linear tends to show that we are dealing here with isomor-phous mixtures and at the same time explains why theyhave no definite melting points. Albite was proven to meltthrough a range of about 150^.
