The disorder isrelieved by the application of balsam of Pern in olive oil, carbolatedoil, spirit of camphor, or other mild stimulant or parasiticide. There are several species of leptus (leptus Americanus, leptus irritans)and other insects living on shrubs and grasses that, especially in themonths of July and August, attack the human skin.
