Zig-zag meteors. Collage of optical images showing wambling zig-zag traces of meteors passing through the night sky. These images were taken at different times across three different continents, suggesting that the apparent zig-zag path of these meteors is not simply an artefact of the imaging technique, such as camera shake, but is due to the actual path of the meteor as it spins/spirals through the atmosphere.
