, Nyaungshwe, Shan State, Burma - Traditional monkeys with their catches balancing on their wooden boats on the north shore of Lake Inle, near the small village of Nyaungshwe. The lake is located in Shan State in Central Burma and is surrounded by mountains. On the shores of the lake live the Inthas, which mainly feed on fishing and agriculture. The lake is mainly known for its monoculars, which loop a leg around the paddle and move across the water. The ancient tradition of this kind of movement and fishing has been preserved up to the present time.
