Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) near its nest, three young hatchlings with open mouths calling for food. A breeding pair of swallows builds a nest from mud and grass and lines it with feathers. The female lays a clutch of 3 to 7 eggs, which both parents incubate until they hatch between 13 to 15 days later. Both parents feed the chicks, which remain in the nest for about 20 days. Swallows usually raise two broods of chicks during the summer. Photographed in Israel in Spring April
