An Afghan falconer prepares a handmade snare trap for birds nesting near Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The 455th Air Expeditionary Wing safety office hired three local falconers to help clear out areas near the flightline that were swarmed with thousands of birds. After a week of work, the falconers had caught or killed more than 250 birds surrounding the flightline and have apparently scared off most of the remaining birds over the past three weeks.
