Snow at Swann Fountain - Philadelphia, PA

This photo was taken in the winter -- in January of 1994. Swann Memorial Fountain, which is located within Logan Circle / Logan Square, is one of the loveliest spots in Center City Philadelphia. This image shows the famous fountain designed by Alexander Calder and the surrounding area covered by a light snowfall. Until very recently, the fountain was surrounded by empress trees (also known as princess trees), whch are native to China. The trees which lived on the Circle for decades were recently removed (due to their age), but they will be replaced by young trees sometime in the near future.
