Charles Bataille (1822-1872) in 18th century noble costume as the Baron de Torrida in "Marco Spada" at the Opera Comique. Bataille's greatest triumph was as Pierre le Grand in "l'Etoile du Nord." He later became a professor at a music conservatory. Handcoloured lithograph by Alexandre Lacauchie from "Galerie Dramatique: Costumes des Theatres de Paris" 1852.
