Portrait of Eugene-Melchior Péligot (1811-1890) French chemist, professor of analytical chemistry at the Institut National Agronomique, and glass-making at the Central School of Arts and Manufacturing in Paris. In 1841 he was the first chemist to isolate the metal uranium from the mineral autonite.
