The external habit is between that ofC. uncialis and Edocarpus littoralis, but the threads are verymuch more robust than in the former; and differently branchedfrom the latter, as well as more robust. The plant is, however,much battered and water-worn, having most of its upperbranches and ramuli broken off:—and I am not prepared tosay whether it be not some species in a dilapidated condition,whose proper character is thus concealed, or as it were shownin caricature.
