Production in the United States. — About one-half of the wheat crop of the United States is pro- duced in the North Central States, west of the Mississippi River, including Min- nesota, Iowa, Missouri, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas. About one-sixth of the crop of this country is produced in the North Central States east of the Mis- sissippi, including Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The far West produces about one-sixth of our crop, while all of the rest of the states taken together pro- duce only about 100 million bushels.
