High Rise at Fabled North Park Mall - OL5682363
Fabled North Park Mall is an upscale mall where Stanley Marcus opened his suburban store Neiman-Marcus in Dallas. The land is on old family property of the Caruth Family. It is the store of the Park Cities--that is to say-- Highland Park and University Park as well as the city and suburban communities flagship stores and prime specialties are also supporting the HM and off price retail shops across Central Expressway as well as the Nordstrom off price merchandise. More like outlet stores, but you have to leave North Park and walk or drive or shuttle bus over to the other side for the discounts. At that intersection, this massive high rise is under construction. We already know that it will be luxury in nature, but failed to get full details from the information sign that is going up at the site. This was much more interesting watching the high wire act from the massive center crane lifting the massive counter weights up to the two tower cranes on either side. At almost 25 stories,the workers were well secure in their harness for safety, but a one ton weight swinging on a cable could easily knock a worker off the cat walk. the three men on the other tower crane were waiting for the first crane to be filled with the eight weights before they finished their climb up the tower to the control cab and the cat walk of their crane. I was able to follow the lifting of the third weight from ground to its seat in the nest. And in between catch the two workers below the third man with a leisure big smile on his face at 100%. A joy to see these me not afraid of heights or other worries of life as they went about their job and also getting a fantastic view from several hundred feet up. Stnaley Marcus built his store in the center of the Caruth family pasture. Ray Nasher has his store also on Caruth land at Preston Center, a couple of miles west. Ray and Stanley worked out a deal and the historic North Park was built.
