London, UK. 28 March 2018. "The Invisible Enemy Should Not Exist" by Michael Rakowitz is unveiled as the Fourth Plinth installation in Trafalgar Square, in place until March 2020. The artwork recreates a Lamassu, a winged bull and protective deity which guarded the entrance to Nergal Gate of Nineveh (near modern day Mosul) from c 700 , until it was destroyed by ISIS in 2015. The Lamassu is part of Rakowitz's project which is to recreate more than 7,000 objects which have been lost forever during looting or destroyed in the Iraq War.
