Wall paintings from rooms in the House of the Epigrams.

Wall paintings from rooms in the House of the Epigrams, Reg. V, Ins. 1, No. 18. On the left, a mural from an atrium, and at right, a mural from an antichamber. Illustration drawn by Discanno and lithographed by Victor Steeger from Emile Presuhn's "Les Decorations Murales de Pompei," Weigel, Leipzig, 1878. German archeologist Presuhn (1844-1881) lived in Italy for eight years and, with Mr. Discanno, made exact copies of many wall paintings that are now lost.
