ARABIAN GULF (April 29, 2017) Sailors aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) use a smoke float to simulate a man-overboard during a drill as the aircraft carrier USS George Bush (CVN 77) (GHWB) transits in the distance. Philippine Sea and GHWB are deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
