WILLI.\M P. BURR, Lawyer, was bom inDublin, Ireland, March 30, 1856. Hereceived his early education there under the tuitionof a niece of Cardinal Cullen. Coming to New-York in 1863 he attended the De La Salle Institute,and later studied at St. James College in Baltimore. Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Commercial LawLeague and various other benevolent, social andprofessional organizations. He married, in 1883,Jennie Philomen WILLIAM p. EURR He took up the study of law at Columbia LawSchool, and graduating in 1879, was admittedto the New York Bar, immediately beginning thepractice of his profession in New York City. Hehas been engaged in many notable and interestinglitigations, and is widely known, not only in thiscountry but in England, having frequently been re-tained by the leading law3ers of Great Britain andIreland as their representative in this country. Heis active in the work of the Democratic party, andwas a delegate to the Constitutional Convention ofthe State of New York in 1894. Mr. Burr is alsowidely known for his oratorical gifts. He is a mem-ber of the State Bar Association, the Manhattan,Lawyers and Democratic Clubs, Tammany Society, M KOHLER, Max James Columbia 1891, LL B. in Detroit, Mich., 1871: educated in private andpublic schools in New York City
