THE KING TOURS STATIONS - The King investing Group Captain GAYFORD, DFC., AFC., with the OBE. In February 1933 Squadron Leader Gayford, as he then was, established the world's long distance record for a flight from Cranwell to Walfisch Bay, South West Africa, a distance of 5340 miles in 37 hours 25 minutes. He piloted the Fairey monoplane used in the flight Royal Air Force
