The capture of Linlithgow castle, West Lothian, Scotland in 1313. The English were defeated by a handful of Scottish Peasants hidden in a hay cart. A surprise attack by local farmer William Bunnock or Binning, during the First War of Scottish Independence.

In 1313 William Bunnock or Binning, a local farmer who supplied fodder to the English garrison at Linlithgow, led a daring attack on Linlithgow castle and its English Garrison. He hid men in his cart and when they were underneath the portcullis on his next delivery, he cut the traces and the men jumped out. The English defeated by a handful of Scottish Peasants.
