Venus at inferior conjunction as it passed about ° below (south) of the Sun on August 13, 2023 in the afternoon sky. The day was warm and the seeing conditions quite blurry. This is a blend of 4 short exposures (the sharpest of a small set) taken through the Astro-Physics 130mm refractor with 2X barlow for f/12 and 1600mm focal length and the Canon R5 in cropped-frame mode at ISO 100. This was not shot with the usual preferred technique of using a planetary camera to shoot a movie in order to extract and stack the sharpest images from hundreds of frames. However, this serves as an illustration of what you might see through a telescope eyepiece, though I have darkened the sky and increased the contrast.
