These machines are also avail-able for threading bolts, the No. omachine taking bolts from Yi up to iVzins. in diameter, and thus making a com-bination thread and bolt machine. Pipeis gripped in a powerful, self-centeringvise, secured by lugs to a post, bench orany temporary support in case of thesmaller machines, and permanently builtinto the stand in the larger sizes. Thevise handle is arranged to be out of theway of the operator when threading orcutting, yet always accessible forchanges of adjustment. Immediately in front of the vise is thedie head, carrying a machine counter-part c^f the Armstrong adjustable stockfor hand threading, the die being dividedinto from two to eight sections, accord-ing to the size of pipe.
