A classic scene at Las Flores with Argentinian Railways Roca 15B Class 4-8-0 No. 1582. One of thirty two-cylinder machines exported to Argentina from the Vulcan Foundry in 1949 as an updated version of the earlier 15A 4-8-0s. The 15Bs were excelled mixed-traffic engines, but gained special distinction working on the seasonal fruit traffic over the 750-mile run from the Rio Valley to Buenos Aires. On duty they worked 1,000-tonne loads on passenger train timings, March 1979.
