From the character of the rattle, which possesses four segments, all of which are of uniform size, the snake appears to be mature. Locality.—The specimen was taken on a ledge, at an elevation of 8,000 feet, in the Beaver Range of Mountains in Utah, by George P. Englehardt, while collecting for the Brooklyn Museum of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Englehardt explains that at a lower altitude he found snakes of the typical form.
