Birch Polypore are also known as Razorstrop Fungus because of its hard surface that can be used for sharpening razors. Burnham Beeches is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a National Nature Reserve and a European Special Area of Conservation where many rare and threatened species of fungi can be found.
