Popular UK coffee chain Bob and Berts is making its way to Preston. Set to open during the first half of November, the store will be located in a vacant spot in Fishergate across from Primark, marking a £400,000 investment in the city. The chain was first founded in Portstewart, Northern Ireland, in 2000 and has since expanded with 14 stores in Northern Ireland and five stores in Scotland. In June the first Bob and Berts opened in England, in Lancaster. Preston is set to be the third store in England for the chain. The opening has already resulted in the creation of 25 full and part-time jobs in management, barista, chef, and general hospitality positions. Jordan Graham from Bob and Berts told Blog Preston: “Preston is a very up and coming, vibrant city with a lively high street that has a great energy on it unlike other high streets. “It also has a major student population, to which our stores can cater for with our convenience with food and drink, along with extra benefits such as comfortable, open space, free wifi and plugs for students needing a place to study.
