A large group of shoveler ducks living up to their name and shoveling, sifting water through their beaks for food


Shovelers normally stay in small groups, feeding by skimming the water with their long spoon shaped bill. In this very unusual case 50 or more of the ducks were feeding in long lines over a relatively small area of water, almost like a synchronised dance routine
