Overhead Construction. The details of the material used in the construc-tion of the overhead, feeder and trolley system weredeveloped by the Southern Pacific Company on itslines on the east side of San Francisco Bay, some slightmodifications being made to meet local conditions. The standard pole spacing on tangents, andcurves up to 2 degrees, is 150 ft.; on curves from 2 to4 deg., 120 ft.; on curves from 4 to 6 deg., 90 ft.; andon all curves over 6 deg., 60 ft. On future construc-tion these spacings, on account of a new method usedin pulling off curves, will be so modified as to elim-inate the 60 ft. spans.
