The Accident and Emergency (A&E) entrance to the Princess Royal Hospital, part of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust

In November, 2017 after much discussion and public consultation (NHS Future Fit) about meeting the health needs for everyone in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and mid Wales, it was agreed that the emergency services at the Princess Royal Hospital should be downgraded and moved to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The population of Telford is smaller than that of Shrewsbury and the Shrewsbury hospital also serves much of the population of mid Wales. PRH is a teaching hospital linked with Keele University Medical School and Staffordshire University.
