The following extract from the minutes of Hose (om-pany No. :; will show bow great the difference is between the Old and the NewDepartments on this subjecl : November 5, 1851.—Resolved, That any mcmhcr of this company found playing cards orany game of hazard in tlx- house, for the first shall he lined one dollar, and for thesecond ollense he shall he expelled from the company, and if not a mem her of the com-pany, he shall he rel used admittance in the house lor the future.
