DARDANELLES STRAIT (Oct. 10, 2014) – Commander Dennis Farrell, commanding officer, monitors surface contacts traffic aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67) while transiting the Dardanelles strait en route to the Black Sea. Cole, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
