Qlaira contraceptive pill. Box containing tablets of Qlaira, for use as an oral contraceptive. Qlaira tablets contain two active ingredients, estradiol valerate and dienogest. These are synthetic versions of the naturally occurring female sex hormones, oestrogen and progesterone. Estradiol is a synthetic version of oestrogen that is metabolised in the body to a form of oestrogen that is naturally found in the body. Dienogest is a synthetic form of progesterone.
