Young great white pelicans (Pelecanus onocrotalus) in incubators, being monitored by a carer. These incubators aid the juvenile birds' growth and development. Great white pelicans, also known as Eastern white pelicans, grow to a length of up to 160 centimetres, with a wingspan of 280 centimetres. They live in large colonies in Africa and Eurasia and feed mostly on fish by plunging their large bills into the water. Photographed in Brittany, France, in January.
