Itslower edge is marked with degrees; and on its upper edgemonths and days are indicated. The axis (g,) may be in-clined to any angle desired, by loosening the thumb-screw,(c,) as represented at 2 and 3. By means of this instrument, the real horizon, of anyplace on the globe may be shown; also the lengths of the SCHOOL 415.
